Born in 1993 in New Taipei City, Taiwan. CHUNG-YEN YU graduated from the department of Arts and Design at National Tsing Hua University, specializing in watercolor. YU is currently exploring the possibilities of watercolor due to its unique qualities. In the past, YU used traditional watercolor techniques to paint the series "Aquarium Scape" capturing the emotions inspired by aquariums. In graduate school, YU used the "scrub method" to create the series "Aquarium Graves" mourning the deaths of aquatic creatures and painting the scenes after their passing. In 2016, YU held a solo exhibition, "Artificial Scape" at Remember Me_Café in Taipei. One of YU's works, "Maybe I won't be alone after death" was exhibited at The Sato Museum of Art in Japan. Works "Breaking" and "Be happy even when sick" were previously Honorable Mention  of the NHCUE Arts Award. YU currently lives and works in New Taipei and Hsinchu, Taiwan.
